Repurposing Your Life
We can Repurpose our lives at any time and in any direction. My blog offers an intimate look at my personal thoughts and the tools and inspirations I use to repurpose and understand my own life and living. I offer these experiences in hope that you may find a piece of my life that assists you in expanding, re-imagining, regaining, and repurposing different aspects of YOU!
Repurposing With Zero Waste To Help The Planet
There are so many creative ways people practice zero waste, and Repurposed By Emma is honored to incorporate that value. Used clothing is often discarded and thrown into landfills. We take pride in using thrifted garments and we don’t let any scraps of material go to waste, whether it's a piece of fabric incorporated on the hem, an extra button placket sewn in, mixing and matching smaller fabrics to make larger pieces, or making a bonus scrunchy to match an outfit. Repurposed designs intentionally embody this value. It is always an exciting challenge to create fun and innovative designs while working within the boundaries of the garments we find. This is not viewed as a limitation but rather as problem-solving to think creatively outside the box and to re-envision our resources. Working with what we have honors the existence and integrity of the clothes. Overall, Repurposed is contributing, with your help, to help save the environment in style!

An Every Day Love Letter
Love.
Love does not have to speak to prove itself.
Love is an energy, the highest vibrational energy we can interconnectedly experience. The foundation for every interaction; The foundation for life.
It is stronger than anything we have words for, A constant supportive flowing energy… Infinite, Intuitive, Unconditional, Alive, Limitless, Fluid, Undefinable, Without Agenda, Compassion, Truth, Peace, and always open for our own interpretation.
Love is not binding or constricting. It has to be free in order to survive and sustain. By setting this energy free, you cultivate a trust in it, in yourself, in the world and in each other, and it will always trust you right back. That is how love grows, that is how love survives. It needs to be set free, like you and me!
Love is like the moon, a constant presence. While it may go through different phases and levels of intimacy, Trust that it is always there and always whole, even when you may not see all of it at once.
Water and nourish the ones you love with pure intention so that they can grow strong and complete on their own.
Detach from the outcome of love, so that you may truly love.
This is how we will heal each other. This is how we will heal the world.

The Music Capsule: Artist’s Statement
Artist Statement
I have entitled this collection of jackets “The Music Capsule”. I chose my favorite artists, bands, songs and albums whose music and lyrics play a big role in my life.
My musical playlists chronicle my path through the widest extremes. The music reminds me of the journey back to balance. It's not about picking my favorite genres of music. It's about music of all genres supporting me through life’s adventures.
Just like how the artist's work shows their creative personality and reflects their journey, the playlists and songs that we hold close are a part of our creative personality. Those songs are like a visual snapshot of our life’s work and who we are. All of the different songs, artists and album collections I've connected with over the years have beautifully and abstractly painted my journey.
I created each unique piece in this collection inspired by the feelings I experienced as I let the music take me where I needed to go. I deeply enjoyed my time searching for the colors, the feel of the fabrics, and the energy that each article of clothing brought to me.
Music is very much the essence and collection of us. Each Repurposed jacket contains so much unique personality. Every jacket or shirt embodies the essence of a song, an album or an artist. I see colors and abstract designs when I listen to music. Consequently, I decided to create small color studies as I listened to the music on loop, which helped me connect the colors and patterns of the fabrics with the sounds of the music. As I searched for garments in vintage thrift stores, some of the matches surprised me as they came together in interesting ways. My process was much like how I view the process of songs and creative albums coming together in layers and textures.
The pieces in this collection are named after some of my favorite artists’ work, such as Norwegian Wood by the Beatles, Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen, Sugar Sugar by the Archies, Sugar Magnolia By The Grateful Dead, Peace Train By Cat Stevens, Wildflowers Kings Highway and Mary Jane’s Last Dance by Tom Petty. These artists are very inspirational to me. Their music, which often tells the story of their lives, has helped me through phases of my own life. We are deeply linked and a love for the artists and their music will always be there!
I hope you appreciate the power in the language and energy of the music revealed in this collection. Please enjoy the playlist that inspired this collection.
Thoughts about Repurposed
Over the past few years I conceived the idea to merge my long time interest in fashion and at the same time help the planet. I created Repurposed as a sacred space where I could channel my true self and feel my sense of creativity and purpose evolve. My hope is also to incorporate other aspects of creativity and life through my writings, sharing favorite music, art, poetry, meditations and flow journal thoughts, health tips and life hacks, thoughts on life, unconditional love and happiness. I hope to create a sacred community space where anyone can come to connect, share thoughts and cool ideas, and grow together.
Our beautiful souls choose to come to this physical earth for reason. To create change, to heal, to find a Purpose and to be a part of a greater whole. Follow your intuition that allows you to take inspired action. Do Good and step Into your purpose!
I will soon graduate from The New School in New York City in Food and environmental studies and Fashion Communications. I wish to educate my customers about the environmental waste of the fashion industry, the value of recycling and repurposing, and sustainable healthy lifestyles. The potential that this generation has to save the planet from food insecurity, climate change, and species extinction is tremendous and inspiring. My hope is that this blog space helps us continue to learn from each other and to grow a more conscious, aware, compassionate and loving society.
